Using advanced surface mount technology manufacturing techniques, the Pro
Series readers offer high reliability, consistent read range characteristics,
and low power consumption in a single easy to install package. The reader head
consists of a single chip microprocessor which decodes the signal from the card
and transmits it to the access control panel. Once verified the control panel
will take the appropriate action. To send another card read to the control
panel, the card must be removed from the general area of the reader and be
presented again.
Northern Computers' Pro Series proximity card readers easily replace other
card reader technologies including Wiegand, magnetic stripe, barium ferrite, and
others. Systems that accept these types of cards and readers will accept
Northerns' Pro Series readers.
Pro Series cards may be used with any of the Pro Series reader head styles.
Cards may also be produced with company logo, or have the users photograph and
cardholder information printed or laminated onto the card. Features

to read the PX-4-H proximity cards.
- Low Power Consumption, all readers use low power 12 or 24 VDC for extended
reader operation while operating on backup batteries.
- Secure, Pro Series readers are designed to provide protection against
reader tampering. In fact the reader may be mounted behind a window or most
non-metallic building materials.
- Indoor / Outdoor Design, The Pro Series readers are sealed in a rugged,
weatherized polycarbonate enclosure to withstand harsh environments.
- Positive Reader ID, A LED indicator on the Pro Series readers visually
confirms a successful read.
- Warranted, Pro Series readers are warranted for two (2) years from date of
shipment.

VDC 200ma power, -22 to 150° F (-30 to 65° C).
