These features include: NEW!! Multilingual Support This version of the PassPoint Plus software is fully multilingual, supporting Italian, French (Continental AND Canadian), Dutch, Spanish (Continental AND Latin-American), Portuguese and German. The language selection is based on operator preference. Northern 34-bit Card Format Support The NCI 34-bit card format is now supported in the system and will be one of the default card recognizers, under the new firmware. US Default Daylight Savings Time Optionally, you may configure the system to use the US default daylight savings time settings, which will be calculated based on the first Sunday in April and the last Sunday in October. Cardholder Image Aspect Ratio The aspect ratio for the various displays of the cardholder images have been made to be consistent, so that the images will now appear the same throughout the software. PassPoint Direct PROXY PassPoint Direct now has the capability to function behind a network proxy. Access Point Configuration The previous version of PassPoint was mistakenly overwriting the setting for the Energize Relay on RTE option at various times. This issue has been corrected. Cascading dialogs under Windows NT or Windows 2000 Previous versions of the PassPoint Software would appear to be not responding due to an active dialog that was not visible. This issue has been addressed. Upgrade Issues -------------- When upgrading from the PassPoint Express or PassPoint Plus 2.00 software, please keep the following in mind: Database Backup (IMPORTANT!) Please back-up the existing PassPoint Data folder before upgrading to this version. The database is located in the Data folder under the PassPoint folder. All files in this folder must be backed up and the backup should be done when PassPoint is NOT running. If necessary, please cancel this installation and perform the necessary backup before continuing. Data Migration - from PassPoint Plus 2.00 In order to preserve the PassPoint Plus 2.00 data, this installation must be installed to the same folder as your existing PassPoint Plus installation. Once this is done, your account data will be preserved. The data migration wizard will not appear in this case. Data Migration - from PassPoint Express 1.1 The installation of PassPoint Plus is able to perform a 1-time data migration from the PassPoint Express 1.1 data to the PassPoint Plus data. If you are upgrading from a previous version of the PassPoint Express software, at the end of the installation process, a Data Migration Wizard will appear to assist in the upgrade process. Please follow the on-screen instructions carefully in order to ensure that your PassPoint Express data is properly migrated to the new PassPoint Plus installation. Upgrade from version 0.63 Some early customers of PassPoint received the PassPoint Express version 0.63 software. If you are installing as an upgrade to this version, prior to upgrading, please check the directory name of the previous installation. If the software was previously installed using the default directory name, you should re-name the existing directory from "PassPoint Express 0.63" to "PassPoint Plus" and then continue with the upgrade installation. The Data Migration wizard will not appear, since your data will be automatically preserved in the installation. If it does appear, you should cancel it immediately without proceeding. Upgrade from version 1.0 If you are installing as an upgrade to version 1.0, prior to upgrading, please check the directory name of the previous installation. If the software was previously installed using the default directory name, you should re-name the existing directory from "PassPoint Express" to "PassPoint Plus" and then continue with the upgrade installation, making sure to install the PassPoint Plus to the above renamed folder location. The Data Migration wizard will not appear, since your data will be automatically preserved in the installation. If it does appear, you should cancel it immediately without proceeding. Account Templates Due to changes that were made in the account templates, this installation will overwrite your current account template information. If you have any saved account template information in standard database, these will be lost as a result of this installation. Custom Tools Any configured Custom Tools from PassPoint Express will be deleted and the standard set of PassPoint tools will be added upon running PassPoint Plus for the first time. PassPoint Express Executables Upon upgrading an existing PassPoint Express installation, the upgrade wizard will attempt to locate the existing PassPoint Express installation folder. If it can find it, it will rename the executables so that they are no longer runnable, since those executables are not compatible with the new software and should not be run. If the wizard cannot locate the executables, you will be given instructions on what to do in order to ensure that you no longer run the PassPoint Express executables once you have upgraded the installation. Other Known Issues ------------------ Large Fonts The use of Large Fonts may cause screen alignment issues. Borland Database Engine If you install PassPoint Plus on a computer system that has applications that use the Borland Database Engine - the BDE - [such as WordPerfect(tm)] in a networked environment, you may experience difficulty if the workstation does not have write privileges to the BDE configuration directory.
